Latest update: 2012-04-19
Since 22/01/2011, software version 4.0 is available, which permits to remotely control and listen to other Perseus SDR connected to the internet. Every Perseus SDR owner can make his receiver available to other users on the web. For testing, you can use the client software for 60 days, without having to own a Perseus SDR. Usually there are about 50+ Perseus SDR servers available at the same time, see this map. The current software version 4.0b can be downloaded here: http://microtelecom.it/perseus/Perseusv40b.zip. It comes with complete documentation on Client / Server operation. Another very useful document for network setup is available on the web. A must: the User group. My personal contribution to the hobby are two databases available on the web, one for FM, DAB and TV, the other for medium wave and short wave. Generating files in the userlist format, the latter provides data that can be visualized in Perseus SDR, showing which station currently transmits on the tuned frequency.

I was almost going to sell my PCR-1000, but now I use it is a portable, universal downconverter. There is no DX on this recording, but you can see how crowded the FM spectrum in Italy is. Listening with the FM mode of the original Perseus software is little joy, so I strongly recommend to use WRplus 1.03. The FM bandscan of the listening location is here. |
